  1. Hello! Does anybody know if it exist a function to know the ID of which solid a line belongs?. I´m spliting a solid, and when use the *body_split_with_swept_lines command the ID´s of my principal solid changed. So I´m trying to know the knew ID of my principal solid if I just choose an edge of the solid. Thanks.
  2. Dear all, I am working right now on a topology optimization based on a tcl script. It is important to me to identify certain nodes in order for my load cases. Lets say I have in my script something like *createnode 0 0 0 0 0 0 *createnode 0 1 0 0 0 0 and then a section where I want to apply a load to it. I did it like this: *createmark nodes 1 1(that 1 is the node id) *loadcreateonentity_curve nodes 1 1 1 0 0 150 0 0 150 0 0 0 0 0 The problem I have is, that the block with the createnode part can vary so the Ids are not always the same. I did not find a way to include a specific ID in the *createmark line in order to work with it later.... it does more or less: id: 1,2,3,4 as you progress creating your nodes. I thought on selecting my nodes differently, maybe with *createmark nodes 1 "on plane" but I did not have sucess there either. How would you solve this problem? I must work with specific nodes I create but te nodes can vary so either I have to renumber it in a way I know which id it has, maybe based on coordinates or assign specific node Ids. Thanks in advance for discussing this topic with me, Best regards, Merula
  3. Hallo, is there in Hyperview a function to find an Element via ID? I am thinking about a function like the function "Find" (or find entities) in Hyperworks, where you can find entities with the ID-number. I want to check if the measurment points still are on the correct locations. However I couldn´t find any button for this funktion. Thank you
  4. Hello, I have imported a FEM in HyperMesh 2017 where there different parts loaded by pressure. The meshes are close. So it is difficult in the viewport to clearly view on which part the pressure is applied. Thus I am looking for a way to isolate the element loaded by a specific pressure loadcollector. I find no way through the GUI. So I guess the solution is through scripting but I do not find the way to script it. Thank you in advance for your help!
  5. Hi, Is it possible to get the ID of all failed Connectors by using TCL-Script, so that I can automatically delete them? Regards, Simon
  6. Hi there, I m performing a 3-point bending analysis on a beam (L=250mm, Squared Cross-section 30*30) and once I refine my mesh to a certain degree (elements' characteristic length < 0.5mm) I start getting error messages sent by RADIOSS. The first tells me I have initial penetration on my self-impact interface and the second is message error id 22: ShellID ... has 2 identical nodes that are not 3&4. Any idea on how to solve these issues? I ve already tried to decrease the minimum gap for initial impact, but it didn't work. Any help would be great Thanks
  7. Hello, I have created this TCL script, which should check, if a certain ID for a specified entity-type is free and if not provide the next free one. proc check_ID {entity_type target_ID} { *createmark $entity_type 1 $target_ID set mark_list [hm_getmark $entity_type 1] *clearmark $entity_type 1 if {[llength $mark_list] > 0} {return 0} return 1 } proc next_free_ID {entity_type target_ID} { hm_usermessage "Finding next free ID for $entity_type $target_ID" silentmode_start while {![check_ID $entity_type $target_ID]} {incr target_ID} silentmode_stop return $target_ID } proc silentmode_start {} { *entityhighlighting 0 hm_commandfilestate 0 hm_blockmessages 1 hm_blockerrormessages 1 hm_blockredraw 1 hwbrowsermanager view flush false hm_setmouse 0 } proc silentmode_stop {} { *entityhighlighting 1 hm_commandfilestate 1 hm_blockmessages 0 hm_blockerrormessages 0 hm_blockredraw 0 hwbrowsermanager view flush true hm_setmouse 1 } puts [next_free_ID "elems" 5000] The problem is, this script is very slow. Already on a small model with about 10000 elements it takes a long time to run, or Hypermesh freezes completely. Is there any way how i can make this run faster? For example the renumber-function in Hypermesh can do basically the same thing, but in real time. Thanks & Best regards
  8. Hello guys, first of all, I'd like to thank you for your great support. I'm quite new to FE analysis and now i'm facing my first problems. To get known to HyperWorks, I started to mesh an imported CAD file with Hypermesh and defined materials and properties. Before applying Boundary Conditions and forces I wanted to check the model for errors and started the anaylisis ( Solver: Radioss (Block 140)) That's where I encountered some error messages. With the help of this forum I was able to fix some problems. For these messages I wasn't able to find any solution: According to that warning, i found a thread here ( http://forum.altairhyperworks.com/index.php?/topic/19028-warnings/#comment-39612 ) Unfortunately I couldn't help myself to fix that issue. For which criteria I have to check the surfaces? What's to do to fix that error in element group? Regards
