  1. Is it advisable to use negative diagonal inertial terms in CONM2. It runs with PARAM,NEGMASS,YES. But whether it will have any effect on my modal analysis results.

  3. Hy all, I am trying to make my own study on a cantilever beam (implicit option) in order to master the basics of Radioss, and I take as an example the example 37_cantilever_beam. Though, I get 2 errors in the starter coming from the rigid body: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- in the rigid body definition ERROR ID : 55 ** ERROR IN INPUT FORMAT DESCRIPTION : -- OPTION : RBODY -- BLOCK : /RBODY/301 -- LINE : /BEGIN ------------------------------------------------------------------------ in the rigid body initialization ERROR ID : 274 ** ERROR IN RIGID BODY DEFINITION (INERTIA) DESCRIPTION : -- RIGID BODY ID : 301 -- RIGID BODY TITLE : FREE_EDGE RIGID BODY HAS A NULL OR NEGATIVE INERTIA ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't understand the first error at all, having compared my starter with the example. Concerning the second error, I indeed input "0" for each inertia parameter, but this is also the case in the example. What do I do wrong ? Find attached my starter file.   4. Hello everyone, I'm currently learning HW 12 in university and I tried to perform an inertia relief analysis to a normal metal chain (4 bodies with surface contacts). I performed the inertia relief tutorial RD-1030 and it work out. But when I tried to perform the inertia relief analysis on the chain, I didn't know how to set up the suport1 constraints and I haven't managed it yet to get the analysis going. I mostly get the Error 941 (large displacement). Seems that 6 dof constraints are not enough... Now I wanted to ask, if it is possible to perform inertia relief analysis with multiple bodies, which are connected via surface contacts to each other? Thanks in advance for some help!
  5. Hi all, I model a hammer, impacting a component. To reduce computation time, and as I don't need any information about the hammer's stresses and strains, I want to model it as a Rigid Body. Though, I wonder about inertia and mass input in rigid bodies, as I get the following warning and error : WARNING ID : 542 ** WARNING RIGID BODY INERTIA ERROR ID : 274 ** ERROR IN RIGID BODY DEFINITION (INERTIA) And here my input: /RBODY/402 HAMMER # N_master I_sens I_skew I_spher MASS Grnod_id IKREM I_CoG Surf_id 39178 0 0 805 0 # Jxx Jyy Jzz 1.87779E+06 371038 -1.87779E+06 # Jxy Jyz Jxz 0 0 404038 # Ioptoff 0 If I delete inertia inputs, my computation works fine. However I need mass, because I work with initial velocity and mass is therefore important. So I wonder : - I input material (density) and mesh, so maybe I do not need inertia and mass input OR - maybe I should input MASS in rigid body OR - do what I did but something is still wrong ...
