Hello, I was once told by a colleague before running an optimisation with optistruct to use the control parameters '-ncpu 8 -core IN'. This was to make the simulation run faster. To my understanding '-ncpu 8' ensures the simulation utilises the computers 8 cores. However, I do not know what the '-core IN' does. Can anyone offer any insight into the meaning behind this and if it actually helps with the simulation speed. Additionally, if there are any other optistruct option inputs that could be used to speed up the simulation then please let me know what they are. Thank you in advance.
Submitted by vinayak on Thu, 01/21/2016 - 23:59 I want to know if there is a way to input pre-selected values as inputs similar to drop down menus. Example> if I want to ensure user can input only one of the pre-selected values e.g., 0,25,50,75,100 , but no other values how can I do it? Secondly> if I want to name these values such as NONE, QUARTER, HALF etc. which when selected will input corresponding numeric value, how can I do this in a model? Thanks, Vinayak
Hello, I tried to use the Damp Control Card for an elastomer component( card image m65_elastomer) but the solver gave me the following message: I assigned the material parameters and for damping I assigned values for alpha and beta. Where do I find the starter input deck to define damping there? Thank you Regards
