  1. Hello Everyone, I am trying to find the right commant to modify the analysis type of a loadstep by a small script. When I am looking for the cmd. file after doing this manually using the gui, I see the following command: *setvalue loadsteps id=1 STATUS=2 OS_TYPE=1 But nothing happens when I insert this command into my small code. No error message jumps up, but the setting of the analysis type will be not changed. In the small macro I created it looks like the following: *retainmarkselections 1 *renamecollector loadsteps "loadstep1" "temp" *retainmarkselections 0 *setvalue loadsteps id=1 STATUS=2 OS_TYPE=1 But the result is just the creation of the load step, but without setting the Analysis type:
  2. I try to follow up OS-1010: Thermal Stress Analysis of a Coffee Pot Lid using HyperWorks 2017 - Student Edition. Everything works fine up to Step 8 Bullet 5, which is setting the Analysis type to Linear Static and SPC to constraints (Load Collector). Unfortunately, I cannot find the settings described in Step 8 Bullet 6. According to the tutorial (see Figure 1) I should now find TEMP in the Subcase Definition section between the Analysis types MPC and DEFORM. There, TEMP should be set to THERMAL_LOADING (Load Collector).   3. I am creating MSC Nastran input deck using HyperMesh. I have the model where I want to apply multiple loads in steps. Step-1 Bolt Preload Step-2 External Force on model holding the preload applied in Step1 Step-3 No load at all but bolt preload If I create different loadsteps from Utility, it seems they are going under different subcases, and in such scenario the loads would not be dependent. Each subcase would be treated as different simulation, wouldn't it? So my question is how do I create sequential steps? The .dat file should look like below. Sol 400 CEND STRAIN(PLOT)=ALL STRESS(PLOT)=ALL DISPLACEMENT(PLOT)=ALL FORCE(PLOT)=ALL ANALYSIS = NLSTATICS NLSTEP = 1 STEP 1 SPC = 1 LOAD = 1 STEP 2 SPC = 2 Load = 2 STEP 3 SPC = 2 BEGIN BULK $----------------------------------------------------------$
  4. Hey! Is there any way to scale single loads, load collectors or load steps in HyperMesh using Optistruct as the solver? Ich can't really find anything. All I found was "use the LOAD controll card". I found it via 'controll cards -->global_case_control --> Load' but it seems that this one just gives the Loadcas ID.
  5. Hi, I have several load steps defined in a model, and sometimes I want to examine only one of them, but if I run the simulation, all the loads teps are calculated. How can I turn off a loadstep without deleting it? Thank you aecyd
