  1. Hi I am making an antenna array, I have the following questions.I have simplified the model to 3 elements for this forum purpose. My array will have parasitic (passive) element which would be terminated in 50ohms (or other loads). In order to simulate this I have added this load to the wire ports which I created on all wires. The antenna pattern depends strongly on the load. It is not clear for me that when I should use the load. In one of the examples I saw they have used the transmission lines between the ports when making antenna arrays. Should the active ports also be loaded? (loading the active elements does not change the pattern but it does change the absolute gain). and a couple of stupid questions. I have not seen using the load in any of the examples. 2-What is the difference between vertex and segment wire ports, when should we use which one? 3-Why we have to make a union of the model, otherwise FEKO solver returns an error, although it passes the CEM validate . sq_param_model_3arr_2G4.cfx
  2. Hi all, As a part of structural simulation of an helicopter wing, I have calculated all my lift and drag forces and submitted the job for max lift and drag conditions. I observed a max displacement of 5000 mm which in practical case is not possible. Since I gave only Elastic properties, this happened. In the process of understanding the BC of my problem, I found this tutorial "http://www.altairhyperworks.com/training/self_paced/os_linear/content/linear_3/PDF/Exercise 3a.pdf" similar to my problem.. Here they have mentioned a meaning full DESIGN Criteria in the problem. How so I include this to my simulation? and for Static linear, my simulation result file shows results in 25 frames, deviations are minimal in first frame of the results... How do i extract result values from different frames (able to view results only for Min and Max values)
  3. As you can see in the picture, two forces are acting on single node, on review, I am able to view the magnitude of that force. How to find about the other force? and to which load collector it belongs to, and it magnitude and other info.? Thanks.

  5. Hello community, I have a question concerning to apply loads and constraints on 3D surfaces. I have created a solid model from a 2D surface. If I do a 3D multi solid mesh and apply the constraints and the pressure onto the two surfaces (see figure 1), I will get a result. And I can see that every node on the surface is constrained and all elements on the surface are applied with a pressure force. If I create a 2D mesh first and drag the elements along the thickness of the model for a 3D mesh and then apply the constraints and pressure onto the surfaces, I will get no results. And further I can see that not all nodes on the surface are constrained and not all elements on the top surface are applied with a pressure force although I have selected the two surfaces (see figure 2). Why can't I apply the constraints and pressure on surfaces if I create a 3D mesh from a 2D mesh? And why is it possible if I mesh the model with the multi solid subpanel? Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi , I have large amount of nodal temperature loads applied on the model. Is there any way to visualize the temperature load using contour plots in hypermesh. Also , incase of PLOAD cards applied on the elements. Can we visualize applied pressure in hypermesh using contour plots? Thanks in advance. Girish

Hello , I am working on the static structural analysis for the automotive door fixture, so there are two conditions of loading one is in stable position and another one when the structure inclined at 30 degree,for second condition i am not getting how to apply load inclined in hyper mesh so pls help me solve this problem, and if apply load same like first and i am getting stress in the range of three digits for mild steel and its wrong, so pls help me to get the solutions Thanks and regards Mahantesh
  10. Hello, I am solving an optimization problem of an automotive alternator bracket which is circular in shape. The cyclic rib formation (material removal as defined by ucyc) occurs only for a certain load values. It doesn't happen for either higher or lower load values. How is this possible?

  14. I am a new user. In BasicFEA profile of Hyperworks (University version), I am doing a stress-deformation analysis for the Mosquito Coil Stand. I got model imported via stp (attached) then extracted the midsurface, meshed it. Added surface constraint at the bottom as Fixed. Saved model is attached. Now wish to apply poiint load, equilavant to Coils weight. Not finding how to do that? Any clues? CoilStand_simplified.hm CoilStand_simplified.stp

    Import loads?

    In SolidThinking Inspire, is there a way to quickly define several loads at a time (for example, by importing an external file)? Or do we really need to define manually each force (or pressure or boundary condition)? I am trying to work on a complexe geometry, introducing loadings through the fastener holes. More than 50 fastener holes i.e. about 4*50 numerical values (magnitude & direction) to enter by-hand...
