Please Explain me. 1. if have a force vs degree curve to give as input, What should be the independent Variable for the interpolation? 2.   2. Hi , I am getting this error which is shown below. I understand because of step size but I really dont have clue how to avoid this error. I tried to change the stepsize and other values in Run option but this error keeps coming. Can you please help me with this. Attaching Log file for your reference. WARNING: Stepsize has diminished consistently below h_min [=1.000E-06]. ERROR: At time=7.556E-01 the integrator failed to proceed. ----------- Possible Causes ----------------------------------------------------- (1) The integration has become unstable. Tighten (decrease) integr_tol, h_max, or both in Param_Transient can help stabilize the integration. If the simulation contains distinctive phases, use multiple Simulate, each with its own proper integrator parameter setting, to selectively tighten the tolerance during the period where instability is encountered. (2) If the simulation was terminated because stepsize has diminished consistently below h_min, reduce h_min in Param_Transient to force integration to continue. (3) Non-physical inertia properties, such as mass=100 Kg and Ixx=Iyy=Izz=1 Kg*mm^2, or extremely small inertia on a part with an unconstrained degree of freedom. Make sure the modeling data, in particular the part inertia and the gravity, are specified in proper units consistent with the units given in Param_Unit element. (4) Beam, flexible body goes out of linear range, bushing has large rotation along more than one axis, curve goes out of its interpolation range, higher-pair joint goes out of the range of U or V, etc. Make sure fundamental modeling assumptions, such as rigid contact assumption used in Force_Contact, are not violated. (5) Motion displacement defined using LINSPL, AKISPL in dynamic analysis, or as a function of model states (DX, VX etc), as well as forces defined as a function of other forces, can cause hard convergence and integrator failure. Avoid these modeling practices wherever possible. Erroe.log
  3. I am trying to replicate the same locking mechanism to my model which was done for the Tailgate in MV Door Closure Training Document. I am really confused how to apply to my model. If I am going with the same parameters as in Demo model, My door is not locking. I tried to change the values but the door is not locking. Can anyone please help me with this, 1. How to decide the 3D contact parameters for the door closing mechanism? 2. How to define the latch spring stiffness? 3. After creating 3D contact, After Highlighting the contact, what should I do, If one component is red and other is blue? Please Help me with this

Hi, I want to create a template that should take the input parameter from the user such as C.G of the components, Inertial Property of the components, motion for all joints and should create the complete mechanism to run the simulation.   5. We use the motion view for the simulation of our car. We use shot long arm type suspension in the front and trailing arm suspension in the rear. In the past models we used to mount the front damper on the lower arm(Long arm). But for this year we decided to mount the front damper on the upper arm(short arm). The provided model in motion view has damper in the lower arm. Is there any way in which we can mount the damper on the upper arm in motion view?

  7. Hi, I am using Hyperworks (V13) to analysis 1D beam and rod. I used 3 pairs of Rev joint for point 3 as I don't know if there is any better way to join 3 part together. I created 4 bodys as PRBody. I created SIM, force SPC load collectors. But it always give me errors. such as *** WARNING # 1200 Incorrect or inconsistent data found in $HMxx cards. (Obsolete data format or errors because of manual editing.). All HyperMesh specific data will be skipped from input files. Component information in the output file will be missing.To rebuild this information - read back and recreate input file using HyperMesh. This happened in line 197 of file "C:/My_Folder/V2.fem": $ 40 39 38 37 36 35 34 33 32 Force can't be referred. I am really struggling here, Is there any body can help ? Many thanks. Sophie V2.hm
  8. Dear all, I am trying to define a multi-body deformable surface contact for Optistruct using MBDCNTDS type of interface. Below image shows the doc page for this type of interface. As the docs say, I have made an MBDSRF type node set to use as the deformable surface. I am able to pass this MBDSRF type of set into the SRFID entry of the MBDCNTDS . So no issues with the deformable surface part. However, when I try to make a node set for the SID1 entry in MBDCNTDS, it will not accept any of my node sets which are saved as entity sets. I have tried using many different card images (SET_GRID and many other), still, the SID1 entry of the MBDCNTDS I'm setting up will not see my node set. I would be grateful if you could share any information with me regarding the type of node set I should use which can be passed into the SID1 entry of MBDCNTDS.   9. Hello, I am trying to run the Optistruct Tutorial OS 2098 with the MBD excavator arm. The analysis works fine, but optimization unfortunately not. Doing everything like in the tutorial, I get errors you can see in the attached output file. Decreasing h_min in the Load_Collector doesn't help. Like it is recommended in line 1062 in the output. But if i decrease h_min to 1e-14, Iteration 0 is running for hours now. So this could not be the right way to solve the tutorial i guess. Is this the only big error? Or are there others I can solve? Would be great to get this tutorial running, because my goal in optistruct is to optimize one part in a MBD, too. Thanks in Advance! os_2098_error.txt

Hi all, I want to analyse kinematics of rotating elements in the bearing 1. when inner ring is fixed and outer is Rotating, 2. when outer ring is fixed and inner is Rotating, Effect of RMP on rolling elements in terms of deformation and contact stresses is the major objective. loading condition is given in following image. please revert with suitable solver for the same.   12. Hi everyone, I'm seeking for help in a topic which I'm fairly new to. I have a complete running MBD model of an automotive vehicle complete with different loadcases. The model provides forces on all joints and pre-defined points. The question I have is; 1. Is there a way to automatically load the output forces on a joint, into a static FEM-analysis? And some follow-up questions if this is to be true; 2. Can I pre-define the time at which the most relevant forces occur? 3. Can this be automated as well? For example: At a given time x, the combination of forces in 3 joints give the highest combined loadcase, but it is not necessary to be the highest force in one of the joints. This could occur at time x2. This would greatly increase our evaluation process of a frame. Thank you in advance!

  16. Dear all, I am building an elastic multi-body dynamic model and I need to model the screws connecting some parts in the model. I plan to model the screws as 1D beam elements. I have seen that I have two options, CBEAM and CMBEAM. The documentation says: CBEAM: The CBEAM bulk data entry defines a beam element (BEAM) of the structural model. CMBEAM: Defines a beam element for multi-body dynamics solution sequence without reference to a property entry. I'm leaning towards CMBEAM more as it specifically states the element is for multi-body dynamics. But I don't quite understand the differences between the two. I have seen CMS models which use CBEAM instead of CMBEAM so it seems it is indeed possible to use CBEAM in an elastic MBD analysis. I would be grateful for any further information regarding the differences between CBEAM and CMBEAM, as well as which one should be used for an MBD analysis comprising flexbodies. Hi, i have two questions/problems for now 1) Is there a way to perform Stress Analysis without using a flexbody? 2) when i create a flexbody and define a contact at the Body, an error was shown when i tried to run the model. (Entity Model-PartBody.2 is turned off but is referenced by Model-Contact 3-jg_1. [General]) thanks in advance.
