  1. Hello everyone! Can't find a solution of this problem for a couple of days, will be glad to get any help from you. Here's the problem: I have two imported (.stp files) solids made by Boolean operation (blue cubic with holes and pink inclusions to this holes). Those solids perfectly fit each other but they are not connected. I need to connect those bodies and get ONE solid body with those inclusions inside. So the main point in the end is to export this final solid to Abaqus and to be able to choose blue cubic and pink inclusions as sections in the final solid body. Couldn't solve this problem through Boolean operation, because Boolean operation doesn't allow to have pink inclusions inside of the model. Thank you!
  2. Hello, I'm hoping someone can help mw with issues I've encounter when using solid edit menu. I'm attempting to create areas of non-design space for OptiStruct analysis. In the first picture I've attached, I directly imported an IGES files from Solidworks. In the second picture I created additional geometry using the solids menu in Hypermesh. The larger radius cylinder and the inner cylinder are what I would like to define as non-design space as a bolt will occupy the inner hole. I'm having difficulties with two things: I am unable to merge the newly created geometry (the larger cylinder) with the imported solid. When I attempt to merge I recieve the error: "None of 3 selected solids share surfs." I am unable to trim the cylinders (both large and small) in order to form a separate solid. I've followed tutorial: HM-2060 - Creating and Editing Solid Geometry, but am still having difficulties. Any help is appreciated, thank you. Bracket-v2.hm

  4. Hello, I have created a solid mesh with connectivity of nodes between two components. Somehow I want to maintain connectivity at specific edges only and not the entire surface of the solid. So how can I break this connectivity. ( I want the nodes of the two comp.s to be close as possible, but not equivalenced) Regards, Bharat
  5. Hello all ! I'm a new user of HyperMesh so sorry if I don't have huge knowledges in. First, let me explain the context. I'm trying to create RVE with inclusions. It's composed of matrix and inclusions in the matrix. First, I create a RVE cube (the matrix), then i create inclusions (here, spheres). The next steps consists in to clear the matrix from the inclusions and to cut inclusions going out of the matrix. I'm must keep two different components in order to give them different material properties. I use *boolean_merge_solids to cut solids. But when I cut my matrix with to many inclusions, there is inclusions added to the matrix. And similar things when in try to cut my inclusions.... If i do it one inclusion by one inclusion, the code become heavy and too mush complex. Is there any reasons for making my boolean_merge_solids going wrong ? Or maybe, something to be carefull with this function ? Thanks in advance PS: sorry if I do some language faults, i'm french speaker and i'm not fluent in english...

Hallo Everyone, I have created an lattice structure unitcell (BCC) of 1mm x 1mm x 1mm in CAD with that I created a whole component of 10mm x 10mm x10mm so there are 1000 unit cell in my component. I imported that component into hypermesh and it shows 1000 individual components in the model section. I want to analyse the component by applying load on the top face by constraining all the dof at the bottom and do the convergence study ( mesh refinement) . My questions are 1) how can I combine or merge all other component 1000 individual components in to a single whole as one component, I think it would be better for meshing and further analysis. ( I have attached the file for your reference please take a look) 2) How can I create a rigid plate on the bottom for locking all the dof and also rigid plate on the top for locking all dof except vertical translation for applying loads ) Thats all my questions , Please take a look on my component .
