  1. Hello Guys, is there such a thing as a users guide for DOEs and especially for the post processing opportunities? I am using the software a few days and I'm wondering what all the post processing monitors show and how the numbers are calculated. Can you help me to understand these thing a bit better? Cheers Max
  2. Hello, The situation is as follows:- I solve a model. CASE 1: Load Model: .h3d file Load Results: .h3d file I find everything OK. the results are good. Same Model (Solved File) CASE 2: Load Model: .fem file Load Results: .h3d file Results very different from the initial results.(Magnitude of results are very very less). Now i am doing this because i have created a few sets in my model which .h3d file won't read. Then i checked my fem file and it has details of all my element sets created. So i run .fem file along with .h3d file. I get all my sets as created in hypermesh but results would significantly differ. Can anyone help me in resolving this issue. Thank you.
  3. Hello, How can i see results for a particular component in a big assembly? I know i can just Turn off all the components/elements and show only that particular component to see its results, but i have quite a few iterations and quite a lot of components to carry out this operation. So every time doing this is a painstaking process. So instead i would like to create a few groups before running the analysis like we have elements assigned in Assembly Hierarchy. So while Post-Processing i can directly Turn ON/OFF a particular group to check results. Then saving as the file will also retain the groups for further study and post-processing for other iterations.
  4. ESAComp is software for analysis and design of composites. Its scope ranges from conceptual and preliminary design of layered composite structures to analyses of details. ESAComp is a stand-alone software tool, but thanks to its ability to interface with widely used finite element software packages, ESAComp fits seamlessly into the design process. The comprehensive material database of ESAComp forms the basis for design studies. ESAComp has a vast set of analysis capabilities for solid/sandwich laminates and for micromechanical analyses. It further includes analysis tools for structural elements: flat and curved panels, stiffened panels, beams and columns, bonded and mechanical joints. ESAComp is developed and supported by Componeering Inc., Finland. www.esacomp.com or check out our Altair Partner page http://www.altairhyperworks.com/partner/ESAComp ESAComp-Intro.pdf
  5. Dear Altair-Engineering-Team, I am writing my bachelor thesis in the area of fluid mechanics. Here, I examine various models with the help of AcuConsole (AcuSolve). To evaluate my calculations, I'm using the additional software "AcuFieldView". My problem: I would like to use the "PLOT3D" functions in AcuFieldview but I don't know how to get them. I read already the reference guide and there is mentioned that you can write own functions and register them afterwards but that was too superficial for me. My question: Do you have already created files for these "User Functions" (PLOT3D) and can you tell me in brief how to register these in AcuFieldView. Maybe a short tutorial which explains step by step to do that? Thank you very much Ayrix
  6. Hello everyone! I would like to ask how to write a simple script for HyperGraph2D, which would allow importing h3d file and then exporting curves in a text format. My problem is that I am facing optimization, for which I need to post-process dozens of curves using an inhouse code, which operates on fem results in a text format. Unfortunately, according to the manual, for the simulations that I use (NLGEOM), OptiStruct generates only binary output. To overcome this problem, I was thinking to use HyperGraph in batch mode, to import a h3d file and then export some of its content as ascii file. Can anyone help in this matter? Kind regards, Jakub
  7. Hi all, for a certain purpose I do have to make a cross-section of a plate made up with shell elements. Now I know how to do it but I was thinking, is there a way to visualize the actual shell thickness in Hyperview? It is possible to do it? Thanks in advance.
