  1. Hello, I modeled a parabolic dish reflector, and fed excitation with a wire feed at focal depth. I solved the model with MLFMM, and I got following result: The gain of dish antenna is disoriented. How can it be correctly oriented towards reflector? Thank you, FieldForcer

I tried looking for steps from the Feko help document but I couldnt find the RCS visualisation steps.   3. Hi, I am trying to export Y-parameters of an array which includes 16 elements, hence, 16 ports. I want to create a .y16p file but every time I try to export POSTFEKO crashes and is not responding. I know it is a lot of data to export, but is there any other way to get Zparameter data?   4. Hello, I am a Feko 2017.1 user. I have a Cartesian surface plot of near field (electric field) (horizontal axis is X, vertical axis is Y, and Z position is fixed). How can I export the data points of this configuration in dat or txt format for post-processing? Please advise. Thanks in advance.
  5. According to the FEKO user manual, the os file ( surface current density) format is following: Num X Y Z Re(Jx) Im(Jx) Re(Jy) Im(Jy) Re(Jz) Im(Jz) ... ... Re(Jx_c3) Im(Jx_c3) Re(Jy_c3) Im(Jy_c3) Re(Jz_c3) Im(Jz_c3) My question is what does c1,c2,c3 means ? The current at three corners of triangles? The X Y Z value seems to be the center of triangle( i checked with mesh file) . if they corners of triangles , how to determine their coordinates. Does any one have a clue ? Thanks. Cris
  6. Hi All We have a query from the customer related to CS115 test procedure. . The setup includes a coaxial cable, a pulse generator with 640KV and current injection probe. Kindly explain how I can set up same on FEKO. How can apply train of pulses to the cable? This requires time domain analysis. How this can be done? How I can apply DFT and IDFT in post feko ??     Good day, I do not understand, the question arises when you model a DI-ELECTRIC object in CADFEKO, but when you view a cut in POSTFEKO, the object seems hollow inside (true even for PEC) - as seen in the diagram below. Does this mean that the dielectric property is modeled as hollow? How can the model be filled - with a dielectric medium for simulation? Farai
  8. I have designed a patch antenna which is operated using proximity feed. After running, in POSTFEKO the realised gain was very low despite "good" gain values. When I checked the current activity using Currents requests, I found out that only a little current is induced in the patch. I'm running FEKO 14. I have no idea what's wrong. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

  10. Hi, I am trying to run a POSTFEKO script from my CADFEKO script. But when I want to run a function from my POSTFEKO script in my CADFEKO script it gives the following error: "attempt to index global 'pf' (a nil value)" The code looks still messy, but I want to know why I cannot do a pf.GetApplication() when running from a CADFEKO project.   11. Hello, I did cartesian plot for my structure's near field and maximum field magnitude is around 80 V/m (please see the attached screenshot). When I exported the near field data, I noticed that field values are much smaller than what's plotted in Postfeko (1E-2 times smaller). I'm attaching the efe file and plot of z vs mag Ez using the data in it for your reference. These values should be same, but they are not. Can you please help me understand what Postfeko does when plotting near field on cartesian chart? Thanks in advance, dipole.efe
  12. Running POSTFEKO v2017.1.1-303889 build 2017-05-17 on a 64-bit Windows machine. Is there a way to import .mat data into Postfeko? Release notes for 300391 state "Improved options are available to read data from *.mat file and to manipulate the imported data." but I don't see these options. I would like to have access to the complete Y-matrix (or Z-matrix) instead of just the single column/row that is available in the .out file.

I have the following EDITFEKO code: ** Near field: NearField1 DA: 0 : 0 : : : 0 : : : 0 : : : 0 OF: 1 : 0 : : : : 0 : 0 : 0 : 0 : 0 : 0 FE: 3 : 5 : 5 : 5 : 1 : 0 : 0 : 0 : 125 : 90 : 325 ** NearField1 I displayed the information generated in cartesian coordinates (POSTFEKO) and it gave me 'Power Transmitted through surface' on a specific 'Surface Definition' and 'phi' angle and obtain a wattage that could not possibly represent a specific point. Does this mean that this is the total power that is part of an infinite surface? If I select RhoPhi surface and a specific height, is that surface infinite? Is there a way in which I can get the specific power in a point at a specific height? Or does this depend on the antenna used for reception? I see that I can get the Electric Field values at a specific point but not power. Thanks in advance
