  1. Hi! I wanna model the rotation of a gear (wheel) with a preload in the pinion. I asume the preload is modeled with a moment but, how do I model the rotation? And which analysis type should I choose? (I don't want a quasi-static one). Some analysis don't let me include a LOAD. Thanks in advance!

  4. Hi, Instead of rubber bellows I have used Cbush element and given stiffness to it. I want to give preload also. I have checked we cannot give preload to cbush element. CROD,CBAR,CBEAM support for giving preload. Is there any option (spring type) to give preload and stiffness to 1D element simultaneously ? Please let me know soon. Regards, Pratik
  5. Hello everyone, I would like to ask for an advice in solving a frequency response problem on a preloaded structure. I create two load cases in a single job. The first load case selects nonlinear Quasi-Static (NLSTAT) the second load case selects freq.resp(direct) ,for substate(preload) ,select the first loadstep. set PARAM,LGDISP,1 Unfortunately,the solver gives an error: *** ERROR # 4754 *** STATSUB(PRELOAD) of subcase 2 points to a nonlinear subcase with large displacement, which is not supported.   6. Hello everyone, I would like to ask for an advice in solving a modal problem on a preloaded structure. I know that this is easily attainable with linear statics using STATSUB card, but I would like to find normal modes of a structure after non-linear static analysis (with contacts). Is it possible to run this sequence of analyses in OptiStruct: nonlinear statics --> normal modes? If not, would you have any suggestions how to do this? Best regards, Jakub
  7. Hello Experts, I am trying to perform a complex eignevalue/ brake squeal problem on Optistruct 11. The error that i am getting is as follows:- *** ERROR # 1461 *** Card "STATSUB(PRELOAD)" is not allowed for this subcase type. I have used Generic as a solver instead of Modal Complex Eigenvalue as it doesn't support Statsub. Can anyone please explain how to resolve this issue. I have been following quite a few tutorials and have followed exactly the steps mentioned but cant get around this error. Thanks
  8. Hello everybody, is it possible to create pre-loaded CBUSH elements in Optistruct? I would like to model with spring elements braced components (tet-meshed) with a defined spring stiffness. The spring elements are attached by RBE3 to the component's surfaces (RBE3-spider -- CBUSH -- RBE3-spider). My goal is to model pre-loaded human ligaments restraining the hip. I'd be glad to get any advice on this topic. Best regards Jo
