  1. Hi everyone, I have a question about how the interlaminar stresses are calculated in shell element. I cant find it in the software documentation I have. The thin shell element model does not calculate the interlaminar stresses or shear stresses right? So there is a need to calculate it in another way, does it uses the equilibrium: xTension/dx + xyShear/dy + xzInterLamShear/dz = 0? What about in the free edge, does it assume zero there? What's the failure criteria used? Is it a quadratic considering both xz and yz InterLamShear or just linear? Sorry for so many questions but I need to justify this in my master thesis.   2. Hi. How I would like to display the shear stresses on the beam. I have tried searching on control cards --> global output request but I haven't found anything.
  3. I am modelling a helicopter blade, with a leading edge mass ballast. I am not sure how to get a standard value for the inter laminar allowable shear stress value for unidirectional carbon fibre. Additionally, how would i model the allowable shear between the metallic mass ballast and the carbon fibre ontop of it? Kind Regards, Mohamed
  4. Hello everyone, Please see the attached images. The RADIOSS solver is giving; a strain in Y direction (unexpected) when the model is sheared in XZ direction a strain in X direction (unexpected) when the model is sheared in YZ direction Has anyone already faced such an issue?
