  1. Hi all, I am relatively new to HyperMesh and have to mesh a complex structure for a topology optimization for Additiver Layer Manufacturing. Unfortunately I can't share a picture. The structure is one component only and has thin parts with one size very small compared to the others and it has bulky parts. For my understanding shell elements for the thin and solid elements for the bulky parts would be best. Is it and how is it possible to split up the structure to assign shell elements and properties to some parts and solid (e.g. tetra)elements and properties to the bulky parts? Otherwise any recommendations for a general mesh type are welcomed! For a complex structure maybe a tetra mesh would be best? Thank you all.

    Solid Mapping

I would like to request your help to solidmap this ''hm'', i tried to trim it but in the last volume allways appears non-mappable. Can you help me? And explain me why appears this error? V0.hm
  3. Hello, I am trying to 3D mesh this solid part by using solid mapping. I tried "trim with surf" to make the part mappable but I don't think I can create surfaces/divisions good enough for solid mapping.I am also attaching the partially trimmed version. Which method I should follow to make the rectangular sides mappable and get rid of the red layer in the cylindrical part? Thank you in advance, Muge
  4. The screenshot below shows a part I'm working on meshing. In order to have a good quality mesh, I have split the top surface into many smaller surfaces. I then meshed the individual surfaces with the 2D Automesh tool and was hoping to then simply use the Solid map tool to sweep that mesh through the thickness (an approach I've used many times before. However, when I attempt to mesh this solid, I get the following error message: "At 0/1. Solid 64:Faces (=2813) per solid over limit(1078)." I was not aware that such a limit existed. Other than splitted the solid into multiple smaller solids, is there any way around this?
  5. Hello Everyone , any one give me suggestion how to do hexa mesh in this component pleas check and give rply mesh.hm
