  1. Hi there. I have met a few problems with importing geometry from Solidwork. As I am using the student version, I have imported solidwork file to CADFEKO in parasolid format. I am looking for the inductance of the model so I have meshed the model and solved it to obtain the output file. In the output file, it only shows the capacitance of the model: Then, I have built a similar model using CADFEKO. But this time it shows the inductance of the model is 2.7uH. The dimensions, model extent, voltage source, frequency used in both files are the same. I expected the results from both files would be similar. At least both of them should have inductance shown in the output file. Why there is such a big difference in the results? V2019.3.0からCATIA, NX, JTについては、CADで設定されている“材料名”と同じ名前の材料データをMaterial databaseから適用する機能が追加されました。 確認したところ、日本語材料名は非対応のようです。 また、大文字と小文字も区別しているようで、STEELとSteelを別物として認識します。 Creoはversionにより材料名が格納されているタグが異なるようで、Geometry import settingsの下部にある、Custom metadata attributesからMATL_CNH or PTC_MATERIAL_NAME を 追加することで読めるようになります(下図参照。)
  3. Dear everyone! I want to export my ply-based shell composite laminate from HyperMesh to a STEP or PARASOLID file. I used the following option: File>Export>Geometry Model My composite laminate can not be imported properly into Solidworks 2019. Tried a lot of options but I could not reach that the shell elements (and plies) had the proper thickness. In Solidworks there was only a surface without thickness. I would like to design a tool for manufacturing and I need the proper geometry of my composite part. Thanks for your answer in advance! Imre
  4. Hi, I attached SOLIDOWRKS model and the INSPIRE model (the model imported into INSPIRE). In SOLIDWORKS the TOP view is differnt from INSPIRE TOP view. Why is this happening? Views.SLDPRT Views.stmod
  5. I am trying to trial the software and have a number of models I want to look at testing the software on. My only problem is I cannot seem to import SolidWorks parts into Inspire, nor export in a format that works either... Is there something I am doing wrong. Inspire: OPEN -> PART.SLDPRT. OPEN -> PART.EVO SolidWorks: SAVE AS 'EVOLVE MODEL.EVO' Thanks in hope James
  6. I am trying to import a SolidWorks model from the 2018 version of SolidWorks to Altair SolidThinking Inspire 2018 and I keep getting a message saying unsupported file version or format. I have tried a model from SolidWorks 2016 and I am still getting the same error. I've attached a screenshot of the error message.
  7. Hey guys I'm new to solidThinking Evolve and I need help about dimensioning my drawings. Can we give dimensions to our sketches like in CATIA or solidworks? Also, can we edit position of points according to dimensions? What are dynamic and static dimensions in evolve and how are they different? Please help. Thank you in advance☺️
  8. Hi Everyone, I've been using Optistruct topology optimization for a project I'm working on and I am satisfied with the results of the optimization. I'm now trying to make a CAD model of the part to simplify the geometry and make it more practical (adding surfaces for bolts to sit on and getting rid of the rough surface created by the mesh and OSSmooth). I'm using Solidworks as my CAD tool and can't seem to find anything about the most efficient ways of doing this. Does anybody have any advice? Thanks!

Dear Evolve users, We want to bring to your notice that Evolve 2017.1 will not be supporting native solidWorks 2017 file format (part file) We expect the translators to be updated by the end of the first quarter of 2017. You will still be able to open evolve files (.evo) on solidWorks using our solidWorks plug in. Exchange of data between SolidWorks and Evolve can be done seamlessly using the parasolid (x_t and x_b) formats.
