  1. Hello, I am trying to run a Linear Static Analysis of a huge assembly. I have 4 ISO Corners at the bottom. I have 2d meshed it (Simplified Geometry : Quad4 Elements only). When i fix the bottom face only of all the four ISO corners and run my simulation i get unsatisfactory results. By unsatisfactory i mean significantly high stresses and displacements. But when i create a RBE2 on each of the 4 individual ISO Corners (i.e 4 RBE2's) and apply constraint/SPC (All 6-DOFs FIXED) to those 4 RBE2s master node, i get satisfactory results. Could anyone explain why this contrasting results or mismatch?

Hello, I have the following warning message: *** USER WARNING MESSAGE 9994 (BULKPM) SPC near line 26984 was entered more than once, with differences starting at field SID However, when i try to find the line by the id 26984 it say that no line with the id was found or selected. How can i identify the line? I have entered SPC on several surfaces instead of being in the elements, can that be the reason? Thanks in advance
  3. Hello, I am trying to make a movement of nodes as shown in the image. I want the movement to be lika a circle ( i dont want rectangular displacements). How would you recommend to do this? INitial point is 1 and final point is 2. I have tried an SPC with two DOFs constrained (x,y) with it respective displacement values in two DOFs 1 and 2. How would you recommend to make this displacemnet.? Thank you in advance for your itme.
  4. Hi everyone, I am writing here hoping someone can help me with the following problem. I have a plate which is connected to one end of a flexural spring (0.8mm thick) through FREEZE contact (please see picture below). The other spring end is fixed. I have used 2 loadsteps to perform this analysis: The plate has to translate downwards of about 1.4 mm. LGDISP non linear static analysis activated. From the position reached in the previous point, the plate must rotate about the X axis of an angle 0.25° (DOF4).LGDISP non linear static analysis activated. All displacements have been enforced through SPC. Picture of the model: I have used CNTNLSUB in order to make one subcase follow the other. Unfortunately, from other threads in this forum, I seem to have guessed the 1st loadstep loads (SPC enforced displacements in this case) must be enforced in 2nd loadstep as well. This proves to be impractical, since my final goal is to simulate bending+torsion in the flexural spring. In fact, I cannot impose the desired rotation in the 2nd loadstep because the plate has to be forced to translate downwards like it is in the 1st loastep.   5. Hello, I have a simple question: While selecting boundary conditions I have the option to select SPC or SPCD? What are the differences between them? I have used SPC to force initial displacement or rotations of nodes. What makes SPCD special? what can i do with them. <Thanks in advance!
  6. Hello again, I'm doing a tutorial, OS1080, and i didn't understand why is used SPC, with all the boxes of degrees of freedom uncheked. What the SPC is used for? The subcase is (Heat Thansfer (Steady State). I found something about SPC on Reference Guide. The first figure bellow.The Step 4, from tutorial, tell me to make this SPC. Thanks!
  7. Hello, I want to transfer Displacements from a model to a submodel. I used "fields" to Import the .op2 file and then Realization to create SPCD's (one for the Displacement(x,y,z) and one for the Rotation(x,y,z)). I used the Card Image SPCADD to combine both. Then i created SPC load collector for all six DOF at the nodes where the SPCD's are. Then i created a load Step and put at subcase Definition SPC to SPC and SPCD to LOAD. If i start calculation i get the error: "* ERROR # 1908 *** Case Control data LOAD=4 is not referenced by any bulk data relevant for used subcase type." (LOAD 4 is the SPCADD load collector) So is it not possible to Combine SPCD's with SPCADD? How can I do it instead? If it helps i can upload the file?
  8. Hello Everyone ! I would like to set up a problem on Hypermesh which include around a hundred load cases (in linear static). To automate it, I found a TCL which "allows a simple template to be created to define the loadcases; useful for creating large numbers of static loadcases very quickly and easily" (link) Thanks to a little VBA, I've just succeed in transforming my Excel data base into a readable txt file for this TCL script. And it works. But my problem is this TCL script only applies my forces (and SPC) on the global system. Is there a solution, and how can modify the TCL script so that it can apply my load cases on a specific local system (expressed into the .txt for each load cases) ? If someone can help me to takle this problem, I will be sooo grateful (Because I've never learnt how to program in TCL) Thanks in advance, Best regards, Hervé Archives.zip

  10. I have a .csv file with nodenumbers that have coordinates and displacements. Can I import that date in Hypermesh/Optistruct to create for each node in the file a SPC that has the displacements and is located at the position of the node coordinates?

Dear All, can you please help me with, How to apply enforced displacement on shaft and fixed constraints on hub as shown in figure. i'm confused in load collectors, where to assign spc and where to assign spcd and in which collector. also want to know about search distance option what it means actually. is it a gap between contacting bodies? regards, Ganesh
  13. Hi, I am running a random response analysis and I tried to request the SPC forces by selecting it in the random subcase output section like I did it for a simple frequency response analysis . My question is now how to get SPC forces outputted for a random response analysis in optistruct. Thanks. Jonas
  14. Hai all, I am doing a linear static analysis by optistruct, when i try to run there show an error "fixed boundary condition in spc is not supported for linear static analysis" what will be the reason for this error? Please help me to understand the error and its solution. best regards, Dani
  15. Hello, When I connect all the elements to rigid element and specify the spc fix translation in x,z, rotation in x,z. free translation in y and rotation in y axis. And Apply moment to same rigid element. In result still i see the translation in X,Z. But not Y Thanks In Advance
