  2. Hello all, I have a doubt regarding the extraction of Stiffness, Mass, Damping and Load Matrix for nonlinear Dynamic analysis of a Single link flexible manipulator. The way I understand, I should get multiple Matrices (at each time iteration) when solving using FE. Is it correct?

I'm an engineering student and i try to build my own shell element on matlab and trying to make the stiffness matrix through the shape function and the virtual wok principle. after coding i compared the result obtained with matlab with a single sheel made in hypermesh and result are in the the same order of magnitude but different. does anyone know which shape function or which mathematical model Hypermesh use for this type of elements? Hello, everyone I have a model with hex elements, like below(model.png) : I want to get this model's global stiffness matrix. for element stiffness matrix, I use the local coordinate like the coordinate.png show: I ouput the ( node id, node coordinate, element id, node list of element) for get the global stiffness matrix. But it seems the local coordinate or the order of the node list of each element of hypermesh is different from mine. I don't know how to reorder the node list which I get from hypermesh. The node list order Which I get from hypermesh is show in nodeListHypermesh.png. It seems is anti-clockwise. Thank you so much for your time. Any advice will be appreciated. (^_^)
  5. Hello everybody, I am doing research work with Altair and optistruct solver optimizing a carbon fiber laminate. In this research I would like to give a quick overview over theoretical basics of laminate theory. Therefre I was wondering, if I could track somehow the calculating of the programm.For example, I would like to show the inputs in the ABD-Matrix as well the transformations of the uni stiffness in stiffnes for each layer. Is there any possibility, to show and get this information? Kind regards Dean
