  3. New to HyperWorks, I am currently working through the Hypercrash Tutorials and this problem has occurred a few times on different exercises. I am hoping to find a reason for what is causing it and how to fix the problem. When Selecting the [Gnod_iD] Support* for a boundary condition a couple of times after making my selection the entirety of toolbars are greyed out (see below). I have confirmed the selection as you can see there is no option with Yes/No/Cancel/Expand in the right bottom corner. I still have the option to edit my selection however, after I confirm the selection everything remains greyed out and so I can not continue with the tutorial without closing the program and continuing from where I last saved. This doesn't happen always and I haven't noticed anything that I do differently between when this does and doesn't occur. Any help is appreciated, Rob

  5. Hi, I set up this test model to analyse how forces and supports are used. The right hand face is rigidly supported and all translations and rotations are constrained. The left hand face has a 1 N load applied in the z direction as shown. This problem is essentially a cantilever beam with a fixed end. Therefore with only one support and one force the reaction force at the support should register as 1N, but it registers as 0.5 N. Why is this? I have attached the file below, working with Inspire 2018.3 Many thanks, Caleb test-model.stmod
  6. Dear Sirs, I'm trying to solve the pipe stress analysis according to the example ASME B 31.3 appendix S Fig.301.1, shown in below URL. LINK: ASME B31.3 pipe analysis example (page 21 & 22) I made the most of the pipe model except the pipe support at the node No.20. No.20 support is the constraint of vertical (Y-axis) movement of the pipe, so firstly I made the SPC with dof of "13456" aroud the pipe, but the analysis result showed unexpected movement. My SPC is fixing the vertical movement of "node on pipe surface", but I have to made is fixing vertical movement of all pipe elements passing through at the node 20. Therefore I have to made some constraint at the node No. 20 in global coordinates, not at the node on the pipe surface. Please refer to the attached .hm model. I assume this is non-linear analysis, but I have'nt done such analysis so I dont know what to do. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance. Nonlinear.hm
