  1. Hi, In Hypermesh-Optistruct profile, how to create Tie contact between two surfaces? In Abaqus profile it is easy but in Optistruct profile I'm not able to find a way to create it. Thanks.
  2. What is the difference between them in term of slave and master nordes relative movement?
  3. Hello every body here, this forum is really helpful, just keep the good work ! I know that in general contact problem is non linear BUT i would like to know if it is possible to perform "linear analysis" with optistruct when the contact interface type is set to freeze or tie ? Thanks a lot. Best regards, GAYE
  4. I need help defining the contact between the parts shown in the attached image. The solver is Abaqus. I have given tie constraint between 1st and 2nd part (both master and slave are selected as surface). these two parts should be like glued to each other and no separation between them. but the tie is not working as the 1st part is passing through the other. also, the 1d line element should move with the parts to which it is connected. thank you
  5. Hi Guys, I have been trying to analyze (static linear) the effect of pressure on an assembly of 2 disks. They are of different materials. The bottom surface of the bottom disk is fixed and pressure is applied on the whole top surface of the top disk. I have tried using freeze contact and also tie but I am only getting stresses on the top disk in the results in both cases. The deformation seems weird because the top disk deforms through the inside of the bottom disk and I get an ice-cream cone like shape. ( I did refer to RD-2100 tutorial for solids in contact) I would really appreciate any help with this. I am a new HW user. Thanks!
