Hi Guys, Im doing frontal collision using radioss, spot weld and adhesives were provided using connectors. Since there were interferences between spot weld and adhesives as shown in the figure. Both spot and adhesives will be there in model, is it advisable to continue with this. Since my major interferences and penetrations is between spot and adhesives. Can you provide me a better solution. Also while providing type7 contact, Case1 In my model both shell and solid part persists i have directly selected those parts in Master Entity and Case2 In my model , i have created skin for all solid parts with a thickness of 0.01mm and updated those in Master entity along with shell parts in this which one is advisable, how to establish contact for those solid components.
Hi @George P Johnson I am working on a contact between two surfaces (Both of steel materials having hollow circular section)having clearance of 0.1 mm . I was using TYPE 19 contact but facing issues in the same and one of the node in the interface reduces time step. Parameter sued with TYPE 19: Istf :4, Fric: 0.1, Gap min: 0.1, Inacti6, Iform2 . Any other parameters recommended for solving type 19 ? Thank you
DEar sir, i was perfomimg impavt analysis using single surface contact and the problem i have been facing is the contact energy is very high from the start of the run as shown in pics below, later i used the parameters u have suggested in forum, it have been decreased but very slightly, i want to reduce it to below 10% and also i want to know why its happening like that. please check the images for further clarifications. SEcond one is having high ontact energy even though i have followed the parameters you have suggested in forums that is for self contact gapmin= 0.001. PLese hlep me to solve this. Thank you
DAMIR88 posted a topic in Altair HyperMeshGood morning to everybody I'm working on ditching bodies in water, modelling it with SPH elements, and the bodies like rigid bodies. I use interface type7, as master i take the body surface, and slave nodes i take the sph elements (nodes); In interface edit panel, i use Istf=1 (just 0 and 1 avaible for sph formulation) and here we came to my need: i have to calculate the interface stifness (with istf=1 STFAC=costant interface sifness), between water and body, because from this depends in a large part the time step, but i don't know how. Should i consider a simple average value between bulk modulus of water and young modulus of body material, or a average weighted value, by a characteristic of entry in water, like entry speed or water height... thanks to all Damir
