  1. Hi, I have a structure made of 3d solid map hex mesh elements, ie. primitive unit cells (see primitive image attached). I have turned my hex mesh elements into bar2 elements. I would like to create a central node to the primitive unit cell and connect bar elements to this central node (see body centred cubic image). I know this will most likely be a TCL script problem but I'm not sure how the script would be written. I have successfully created the primitive unit cell and used config edit tool to create bar2 elements (CBEAM's) But I would now like to do this with elements connected to a central node.   2. Dear Experts, I'm new to Hypermesh and need some advice on the meshing in it. I'm trying to model a composite unit cell. I have the yarns and their geometry from an external software in an *.stp format but I need to fill the domain with 3D elements which can act as a matrix of the composite. How can I perform this action in Hypermesh? I have tried booleans but they fail due to contact between the yarns at intersections. If booleans can be used, can you please tell me how can I improve it. Kind Regards 3S.stp
  3. Hi, I want to simulate the elastic (and further the elasto-plastic) behaviour of arbitrary lattice structures with hyperworks by the use of unit cells. Is there a possibility to apply periodic boundary conditions to simulate unit cells? In addition to that i've tried the Multi-Scale Designer for a simulation like this but there is a major limitation. Within MDS i've to specify matrix and the fiber material but i'm only interested in the behaviour of the fiber material without any influence of the matrix material. I hope someone have a solution regarding this topic ;-) best regards

Hallo Everyone, I have created an lattice structure unitcell (BCC) of 1mm x 1mm x 1mm in CAD with that I created a whole component of 10mm x 10mm x10mm so there are 1000 unit cell in my component. I imported that component into hypermesh and it shows 1000 individual components in the model section. I want to analyse the component by applying load on the top face by constraining all the dof at the bottom and do the convergence study ( mesh refinement) . My questions are 1) how can I combine or merge all other component 1000 individual components in to a single whole as one component, I think it would be better for meshing and further analysis. ( I have attached the file for your reference please take a look) 2) How can I create a rigid plate on the bottom for locking all the dof and also rigid plate on the top for locking all dof except vertical translation for applying loads ) Thats all my questions , Please take a look on my component .
