  1. Hello, I have a 3D antenna pattern that was designed in CST Studio Suite 2018 and I want to use it in WinProp ProMan. What is the easiest way to convert the data? Because CST exports 3D patterns in certain formats but none of them is supported by WinProp (AMan and ProMan). Thanks.

  6. Hello For a real implementation, I am running simulations of a certain area (parking garage) where the antenna is only 15 cm above the floor plate. I noticed that the results of my measurements differ very strongly from the values I find in the simulation. To check if I had made a mistake I tried to recreate the 2-ray path model using a floor plate with normal material properties (for example concrete). This was successful because the resulting power (and field strength) values decreased with 40 dB per decade as we expect from the theoretical explanation. This of course after the oscillations stop (> critical distance). However, when I rerun this simulation with lower antenna heights (coming from 5 m to 0.5 0 or even 0.15 m) the results get worse and worse. The lower I place my antenna (but still above the floor obviously) the worse my results get. At 0.15 m antenna (and resulting prediction height) I get just over 20 dB/decade. I have graph where I simulated the exact same plate, exact same antenna location, but with adjusted antenna and prediction heights where you can see this trend. I feel as though there is something wrong with either the interaction between the antenna and the floor (incorrect resulting radiation pattern) or that the separate rays don't add up correctly at the resulting point when they are this close together. I have tried this with several material properties but I still get this result. Any help would be much appreciated. Kind regards Publi PS: to recreate the results: Step 1: create database in WallMan, long plate (>2km) of a certain with with 5.5 relative permittivity and 0.01 S/m conductivity. Step 2: Make SRT project and load this into ProMan. Step 3: Place an antenna with normal gain and isotropic radiation pattern and arbitrary transmitted power at the start of the plate. Choose for example 10 m height (also for prediction plane). Step 4: Simulate it and plot the resulting power from the transmitter to the end of the plate. Step 5: Confirm that you have 40 dB/decade power loss. Step 6: Repeat starting from step 3 but now choose a lower antenna height and prediction plane. Confirm that you power loss is now lower than the first case. 2Ray-AntennaHeights.eps
  7. I have an antenna design with circular polarization, both co- and cross-polarization patterns were designed in CST and I want to test it in an indoor model in WinProp. However, as far as you know, WinProp only takes linear polarization when it performs the propagation testing. Should I just import them as RHCP and LHCP or convert them into theta and phi components instead, however in this case I will lose the 90-degree phase shift between them. In fewer words: What is the best way to do circular polarization in WinProp?
  8. Hello, How can I implement my own optimization algorithm in winprop? It is worth to mention that I want to use the algorithm for sites placements depending on several factors like Power, Data Rate, Capacity... etc. I tried using OptMan but there are no resources in that on how to use it.   9. Hello, I met following problem when performing "Compute Optimisation" in OptMan. However, there are only 12 sites in total. The space of my memory is 8 GB. Neither can I run the example project "Opt_Sample_Urban_Subset". I don't how to fix it. Besides, where can I get tutorial document like .pdf files? Could you please show me the link or the path to it if it is included when the software being installed? Thanks a lot!

  12. How can I see, in the simulation of the propagation of all antennas (RUN PRO), the total power of all antennas? I am only able to see the power/field strength/etc. of only 1 antenna per time and not the power/field strength/etc. of all antennas together.
  13. Hi, I have an algorithm for the assignment of mobile stations in WinProp and I am struggling in adding this algorithm to the software. I have read the part of the manual where it shows the API Functions (which by the way I cannot find the NetManTrafficCore.pp file), that are used in Visual Studios but I still don't understand how to implement my own algorithm in WinProp. Also, where can I find the Visual Studio library that will help me in writing the algorithm? Can anybody help with details please? Thanks.
  14. Using Proman I want to create a site with an antenna that is connected to the network as in a default site/antenna. Then, a second antenna/site must be created but this site does not get the data to transmit from the network but instead, it must have a wireless backhaul connection to the first antenna created. How could I go about doing this in Proman if it is possible?

  16. I am trying to create a simple indoor scenario with network planning. I am trying to implement a 2x2 MIMO in an LTE air interface conditions. My question is where can I define the modes that my MIMO is using? For example: is the MIMO being used for Spatial Diversity or Spatial Multiplixing? What type of diversity is it using (Spatial Diversity, Polarization Dicersity., Frequency Diversiy or Time Diversity)? is it an open-loop or closed-loop MIMO? As far as I know, I can only modify the Signalling Overhead, Beamforming and the Interference between the streams, but can I can modify the modes such as the ones I mentioned above? If no, what are the defaults that ProMan is using? Thanks.
  17. Hi All, I have been exploring weather WinProp (ProMan) can be used for real time applications. The main obstacle for real time performance is the time winprop takes to provide heat maps. I think, if we could query winprop to provide point to point values instead of a entire prediction plane of many points, then we can unlock its real time potential. Would you please advise if there an API or something through which can accomplish this. Thanks Have a great day Balaji
  18. Under the project parameters, on the Air Interfaces tab, there is a mobile station/subscriber station settings option. I would like to know how to implement this in my simulations as i can't seem to see an option to add mobile stations into my simulation
