Surface film coefficient in Acufieldview & AcuProbe

Recommended Posts

Hi,

what is the significance or literal meaning of Surface film coefficient in AcuFieldView (scalar function) & AcuProbe?

as per my understanding it is same as convective coefficient. is it right?

Regards

Ravi

The surface_film_coefficient variable is the heat transfer coefficient.  So, from the relationship q = h*A(T_local-T_reference), the surface_film_coefficient is h.

Hi, I've got a question to the surface film coefficient, too.

What does the AcuProbe-Graph displays? Is this the mean surface film coefficient or the maximum/minimum value? Is there an documentation for AcuProbe?

Regards

Sebastian

AcuProbe shows the averaged values for each surface. It is also possible to get statistical values (min, max) in AcuProbe. AcuProbe itself does not have a documentation, however two other manuals might be of interest Command Reference Manual and Program Reference Manual. They are located in the installation and describe a lot of input, outputs and equations.
