using the deadband block

I would like to generate a model of a control valve that has deadband (hysteresis) in its output value (stem position).

The Vissim block 'deadband' would work fine, except that it only operates around the value of zero. A control valve might be at some intermediate value, say 45% of travel, and then exhibit the deadband behavior depending if it continues to move up or if the command signal reverses.

Any ideas how to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Eric

I tried your block but it only has the output signal track the input, shifted downward by the selected value of db. It does not handle signal reversal and that is the tricky part. In the meantime I have figured how to do it. Thanks for your help! Eric
