What does a 'Negative Jacobian' indicate when it causes acuPrep errors?

Recommended Posts

For a given element (except for the fifth node of a pyramid) each node is connected to three other nodes via three connected edges. Assume R1R2, and R3 are the vectors for the three connected edges. For a positive Jacobian:

R1 × R2 ) · R3 > 0

This test is done for every node of every element - so a mesh with 10K tetrahedral elements would yield 40K Jacobian tests.
