Internal surfaces within AcuSolve have two sides to them that contain different element numbers. However, these elements contains identical nodes if the surface has not been split. For the case of conjugate heat transfer, the appropriate boundary condition to apply is a SIMPLE_BOUNDARY_CONDITION, type=wall on the fluid side of the surface. Note that by default, the type=wall sets heat_flux=0. However, in the case of an internal surface shared by a fluid and solid, heat is transferred directly between the elements due to the fact that they are connected by shared nodes. Therefore, the heat_flux=0 condition does not prevent heat transfer. A non-zero heat flux can be specified to model an addition of heat due to some external source (such as an embedded heating wire in a rear window defroster).
