How do I extract nodes from a surface or volume for use with Nodal Boundary Conditions and/or Nodal Initial Conditions?

Recommended Posts

The AcuSolve tool (shell script) 'reform' reformats existing files - and can be used to extract nodes from a surface or volume. It is located in the /tools/ directory of Linux/Unix installations.

Extract nodes from a surface (.ebc) file:
reform -3,100,1 surface1.ebc | sort -nu > surface1.nbc

Extract nodes from a volume (.cnn) file:
reform -2,100,1 volume1.cnn | sort -nu > volume1.nbc
