Temperature mapping.

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I'm currently working on a thermo-structural analysis of a telescope. The structural and thermal analysis has been carried out separately with different mesh (structural analysis mesh-330000 elements, thermal-5000 elements). The thermal analysis with a coarse mesh comprising of 5000 elements, is done in NX and the temperature data at a particular time step is extracted in excel format. Now, to perform thermo-structural analysis in Hypermesh, i have to map this temperature data onto the fine mesh (330000 elements one). But i'm struck here. I have no idea how to import the excel data. Another problem is that the mesh is also different. I'm going with the optistruct solver as i have to introduce mechanical loads onto the telescope apart from thermal loads.

How to proceed with this problem? any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Try method "linear interpolation"

"nodes" => fine mesh

"file" => temperature field from txt file in form :

X-coordinate Y-coordinate Z-coordinate Temperature

Hi Q.Nguyen-Dai,

i have followed your method but not succeed. (i tried with several different models)

the temperature load in Hypermesh (after linear interpolation) is all "0-zero" value.

Can you help check my attached files in below?

Thanks in advance!
