mesh guidance

Recommended Posts

meshing would depend on type of analysis you have , geometry etc. But is is generally recommended to have hex mesh for simulation. also if you are working with AcuSolve which works on FEM technique and if on ANSYS fluent it works on FVM technique. For FVM , hex is recomended

AcuSolve is a FE based code and is optimized to run with Tetra mesh (actually a big advantage for optimization, as it can work with highly skewed elements).

Some special cases (e.g. certain mesh motion like piston in cylinder) are better off with penta6 or hex8 elements.

In general use tetra4 (avoid hybrid or mixed meshes, as the can lead to some post-processing complications.). AcuConsole will by default generate Tetra4 elements.
