MATS1 elasto-plastic

Hello all,

 

I know this question has been addressed in some past questions, however I would like to know if the the values of the true stress = sigma_nominal(1+strain_nominal) versus plastic strain = strain_true_total-(true stress)/E, where: strain_true_total = ln(1+strain_nominal), E = Young's modulus are entered into the tables1, or the values directly from the experimental stress-strain curve are entered. I am asking about the case of an elastoplastic material, with the table defined in terms of the plastic strain and the presence of large deformations.

Hi @mvass

 

Since you are interested in large deformation analysis, please use True stress-strain curve instead of the experimental curve,

 

Experiment results are engineering stress-strain curve and it needs to be converted to True stress-strain when using in MATS1
