Error 1897 while using joints or screws

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am using Inspire for optimizing a rail system. I calculated the applied forces in each position and added it to individual load-cases. Somehow I cant rund the optimization (with separation at contacts). I would be very happy if you could help me.

I think my system is in an equilibrium and believe that there is something wrong with my contact definitions. The joint is included in my model and every area with force applied is a defined non-design space.

I would be happy to hear your thoughts on this error.

Hey Timo,

it looks like your model is not properly constraint. For the very left pin (top image) you are using multiple parts, that are connecting by contact. This way when performing an analysis you will get a rigid body motion of the beam. Change the two contacts between those three pins to "bonding" so that they constrain the beam. I hope this helps!
