Hello Sir,


I am using motionview/motionsolve to simulate the scissor link mechanism as below image.

I have represented the revolute and transnational joint at the link end location.

Please share the preferable friction represent. I have used the default properties at the joint friction but I did not get any output force due to friction.

Please share your comments.

Hello Yuvaraj,

The joint friction is dependent on the geometry that the joint is connected.

Please take a look at the online help for more information about joint friction and how to enter the proper friction parameter based on your geometry dimensions.

Also, check the log file.  If your model is purely kinematic, then you will not get forces out, therefore friction will not be applicable or calculated.


Also, do not as Felipe suggested, do not rely on the default parameters for friction.  You need to carefully select the correct properties, based on the dimensions of your problem.
