Iron losses computation simulating an electrical machine with periodicity

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

let's suppose I want to simulate a two-poles electrical machine with Flux 2D and calculate iron losses on faces. To reduce the domain size I would simulate one-half of the machine setting an even periodic condition (periodicity). Does Flux output losses for only one-half of the machine or for the whole model, automatically taking into account the periodicity?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Hi Marco,

Actually, Flux is going to calculate the iron losses for the machine portion that is represented in the project. In your case, you will obtain the losses for one-half of your machine. Iron losses calculus does not consider automatically any periodicities or symmetries.
